Privacy

We aim to collect the minimum amount of data needed to operate this site. By default, no analytics or marketing cookies are set until you consent through the banner. Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals are honored — if your browser sends one, non-essential tracking remains off without further action.

What we store

• Consent state is stored in your browser's local storage under the key vair_consent_v1. It records which cookie categories you allowed and when.
• Visitor ID cookie. A first-party vair_visitor_id cookie is set so the server can keep page renders consistent across navigation. It is a random UUID and is not tied to any identifying information until and unless you accept analytics cookies.
• No analytics by default. Until you accept, no third-party analytics scripts are loaded. Acceptance enables product analytics via PostHog so we can understand which platforms readers compare and which reviews are most useful. Events never include name, email, or LinkedIn URL.

Reviews you submit

When you submit a review we collect the name, work email, role, company, LinkedIn profile URL, and review content you provide. The name, role, company, and review body may appear on the published page once an editor verifies the submission. The work email and LinkedIn URL are used only for verification and are never published or shared with vendors. We do not sell personal data.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to filter automated submissions — it runs locally in your browser and does not require solving a puzzle or tracking you across sites.

Your rights

You can clear the consent state and visitor ID at any time from your browser's site-data controls. For a copy of any data we hold about you — or its deletion — file the request through the review submission form (note “data request” in the headline) or have your counsel write to us directly. We honor requests under GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, CCPA, and CPRA.
